On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon wears a brown cowl neck sweater. Since she is stowed away, doesn't V.C. Andrews' Flowers in the Attic come to mind? She's not exactly in an attic but she, much like the Dollanganger children, has to hide out after an unfortunate incident. Sharon was also lavished by expensive gifts and promised a bright future when she married Victor paralleling Corrine's deceptive behavior towards her children. True, Sharon hardly has to worry about incest and her "captor" Adam is only trying to help. However, Cathy and Chris' grandmother abuses them and one can argue Ms. Newman was emotionally abused by those closest to her. Even the words "arson" and "arsenic" sound remarkably similar. Interesting, right?
