Esther should follow Jennifer Lopez' lead in Maid in Manhattan and start wearing Katherine's clothes and baubles in her down time. Phyllis, like the Queen of England, stole someone's husband, committed adultery, was involved in a very public divorce, and gave birth to a daughter. Anne Boleyn was eventually charged with treason and beheaded and while Red's still sits squarely above her shoulders, she did attempt to kill although Christine and Paul are hardly head of state. Phyllis may have never had to struggle to conceive a son for Nick but with the way he's headed, he'll surely have eight wives in no time.

On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Jill wears a black ensemble with red cuffs. As she argues with Katherine, one can't help but think their bickering is somewhat similar to that of Eliza Doolittle and Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady. "Wouldn't It Be Lovely" if the two women would put their differences aside and get along? "With a Bit of Luck" Chancellor Industries would possibly grow into an even more successful company with both matriarchs at the helm. Anyone else think the love triangle between Nina, Paul, and Christine mirrors the one between Robin, Ted, and Barney on How I Met Your Mother? In both instances, a set of best friends shares the same significant other and escalated emotions, jealousy and lying are all intricately involved. What is more, both triangles seem to have deep historical roots as Paul and Christine were engaged to be married many moons ago and Ted's tale has been going on since the dawn of time. The mere fact she's wearing a blazer is about as predictable as the overwhelmingly negative reviews for Lindsay Lohan's new film "Liz and Dick." Christine does, however, manage to surprise viewers by kissing her best friend's boyfriend and in a scene right out of any Lifetime movie, Nina walks in and catches them in the act. It's true, Christine and Paul are hardly Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton but it does seem the buzz surrounding them in Genoa City is reminiscent of the familiar chaos following the legendary Hollywood couple. And there you have it, "Boom!" The "Love Is Better Than Ever" feeling is gone as "Winter Kills" Paul and Nina's relationship. Or in this case, Christine does.

Without a shadow of a doubt Adam cares a great deal for his ex-wife but doesn't it seem that Chelsea is living in Sharon's shadow? Thomas Campbell said, "coming events cast their shadows before" and in this case, he may be right. Chelsea may want to consult Phyllis on this one because if anyone has experience living in Sharon's shadow, it is the fiery former redhead.

In the end, everyone would hug and have a good laugh over the unfortunate series events. Sigh. If only things were ever that easy for the Newman family.

So far it seems Genoa City citizens cannot get enough of Avery's delicious baked goods and scrumptious soup. She is as surprised to hear of her daughter's kidnapping as those with Bieber Fever were to hear about the end of Justin and Selena's relationship this past weekend. While Nikki and Billy dance around Victor's questions and secretly work to get Victoria back, the respective "Jelena" camps are also staying mum on whether a reconciliation is in the works. Will Victoria forgive Billy for not paying his gambling debts which lead to her traumatizing kidnapping ordeal? Will Selena take Justin back despite rumored trust issues? Only time will tell if "Another Cinderella Story" will bite the dust.

As Ellen DeGeneres has hilariously pointed out, from the hour it takes to choose from the vast array of hues to the hysterical names companies give their nail polish shades (especially OPI), do-it-yourself manicures are just not the same. Summer may be pretending to bond with Phyllis over Newman's new nail polish but she is secretly still upset her mother was on trial for attempted murder, slept with the detective investigating, and broke up her family. Now, add the fact that Red didn't spring for a proper manicure for their "Mother-Daughter Day of Fun" to that list because nothing beats the true salon experience. Especially when there is dry champagne, right Ellen?

Unfortunately for her, these days she's pretty much channelling Kevin McCallister as she is spending more and more time Home Alone. With the way things are going for Chelsea, two "wet bandits" could amble in and kidnap her and Adam would hardly notice. She has managed to outwit her husband and his stowaway, much like Kevin outsmarted Marv and Harry, by figuring out that Sharon started the fire. Chelsea is even estranged from her family (of criminals) much like Marley is from his son and granddaughter in the film. While Kevin was thrilled to have the mansion to himself for the holidays (at least at first), Adam's wife seems to find all of the quality time with herself quite lonely. It looks like she may be foregoing the slapstick humor and going for a slap instead one day very soon.

Phyllis, much like the musical's leading lady, isn't exactly "Dancing Through Life" these days; she isn't very "Popular" given her recent actions. Sure, Red makes "Defying Gravity" look like a cakewalk after escaping charges of attempted murder but only time will tell if she is ready to end things with Nick "For Good." In the meantime, there's no doubt she'll be green with envy seeing her soon to be ex-husband with her sister.

Maybe with her new-found interior decorating skills, Sharon can head on over to Billy and Victoria's house and bring that 1950s decor into, you know, this century. Katherine is Wilbur, about to be slaughtered by her business colleagues for returning to her CEO position at Chancellor Industries. Jill, on the other hand, is Charlotte, weaving her arguments into pleas and insults to get her friend to reconsider. It doesn't help that Lauren's dear sister is also pretty bloodthirsty, admitting she thinks she would be perfect for the job herself. As for Tucker, he's surely Templeton the rat as many do not know his true motives and he is and always has been self-serving. This should make for an interesting storyline and more importantly, for a stylish one at that as the cobwebs are finally brushed off Jill's collection of stellar signature statement necklaces!
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Avery wears an asymmetric wrap t-shirt. Does anyone else think she needs her own cooking show like yesterday? Avery seems to be a whiz in the kitchen and it has already been proven she excels in the courtroom. Wouldn't it be fantastic if she could talk legalese while showing viewers how to make mouthwatering muffins? Even her apartment is the perfect backdrop to host a cooking show. Perhaps The Next Food Network Star is in her future but in the meantime, Genoa City's very own Giada De Laurentiis (sans the creepy smile) is whipping up some magic. That is, when she's not busy making hungry eyes at Nick.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon wears a brown cowl neck sweater. Since she is stowed away, doesn't V.C. Andrews' Flowers in the Attic come to mind? She's not exactly in an attic but she, much like the Dollanganger children, has to hide out after an unfortunate incident. Sharon was also lavished by expensive gifts and promised a bright future when she married Victor paralleling Corrine's deceptive behavior towards her children. True, Sharon hardly has to worry about incest and her "captor" Adam is only trying to help. However, Cathy and Chris' grandmother abuses them and one can argue Ms. Newman was emotionally abused by those closest to her. Even the words "arson" and "arsenic" sound remarkably similar. Interesting, right?
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Lauren wears a tweed blazer. Is anyone else hoping she takes after Jane Austen's Emma and tries to play matchmaker? In the novel, Mr. Martin likes Harriet but Emma thinks her friend belongs with Mr. Elton. It then turns out Mr. Elton actually likes Emma. Although Lauren has her devoted husband Michael, her friends' love-lives are a mess much like in the story as Paul, although dating Nina, likes Christine who is lusting after Danny. The Fenmore's owner, like Emma, is an intelligent woman with a great deal of free time on her hands. Perhaps playing Cupid would help pass the time as long as when she's aiming that bow and arrow that she keeps in mind her plans may go awry at any moment.
