She's not exactly in an attic but she, much like the Dollanganger children, has to hide out after an unfortunate incident. Sharon was also lavished by expensive gifts and promised a bright future when she married Victor paralleling Corrine's deceptive behavior towards her children. True, Sharon hardly has to worry about incest and her "captor" Adam is only trying to help. However, Cathy and Chris' grandmother abuses them and one can argue Ms. Newman was emotionally abused by those closest to her. Even the words "arson" and "arsenic" sound remarkably similar. Interesting, right?

On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Genevieve wears a printed peasant blouse. In comparing this tale to Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, it would be easy to dismiss her as the blond little Cindy Lou Who and Victor as the Grinch. That, however, is hardly the case. Victor has morphed into a wide-eyed innocent child while Genevieve is the one who has deservedly earned her Grinch title. Isn't it funny though as the story unfolds how she grows from being a greedy and mean-spirited to actually carrying about Victor's well being? One could even venture to say Genevieve's heart has grown three sizes since she's arrived in Los Angeles. Now the who's who in Genoa City are busy scurrying around looking for their walking talking symbol of hope but something tells me that the next part of the narrative will crush some dreams.
