On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Summer wears a blue velvet dress and drop earrings. Her awkward run-in with Adam at Chelsea at the housewarming party is about as newsworthy as Comcast adding the NBC peacock symbol to its logo. In other words, it appears to be something that could potentially get a lot of buzz but in reality, simply causes people to raise their eyebrows for a second and then move along with their daily lives. The reason for Comcast's underwhelming situation? The logo is something a twelve year old could have whipped up after ten minutes on Microsoft Paint. In Summer's case, Chelsea took the high road and didn't say much so there wasn't exactly any drama there. At least her dress made an otherwise dull situation a bit more interesting.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Victoria wears a gold sequin dress with an open draped back. Her relationship with Billy at the moment is a bit like The Today Show: flailing. While viewers wonder Where in the World is Matt Lauer since he is not particularly winning over viewers since Ann Curry's hasty departure, Billy has realized Jamaica may be the key to his problems with Victoria. It is uncertain whether Good Morning America and Victor will reign supreme in these two instances or whether each will recapture the magic and wow viewers the way this dress did.
Thanks to Rhonda on Facebook for ID'ing this dress!
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon wears a gray sweater. Remember the episode of The Big Bang Theory when Sheldon and Leonard's apartment is broken into and Sheldon decides to move to Montana? Upon his arrival he prompty gets mugged and returns to California almost immediately. Sharon, like Sheldon, takes things to the extreme like when she attempts to break things off with Adam for good or hides in a cabin while pretending to be out of town after setting the Ranch on fire. Now Sheldon has never burned a house down per se but there's no doubt he can launch into a lengthy explanation on the elements of fire.
Please note: I'm still searching for the exact one so check back but here's a similar sweater in the meantime.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Lily wears a red dress and gold necklace. Now that she's Working 9 to 5, one can't deny it's quite a way to make a living surrounded by her dad, brother, and husband. Luckily, Lily's boss would never just "use her mind" and not give her the proper credit. As Dolly Parton sings, she is "hardly just a step, on the boss man's ladder" and Neil would never even dream of taking her dreams away. More importantly, Neil would obviously recognize Lily's "service and devotion" and surely "give her a promotion." Forget "cup of ambition." How about a nice steaming mug of nepotism?
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Lauren wears a gray metallic rib knit sweater and a spear necklace. As she worries about her son Fenmore and his relationship with bad-influence Summer, you can't help but admire her Momma Bear qualities. While Fen may not see her Molly Weasley potential ("Not My Daughter, You Bitch!") when it comes to protecting him, it is not hard to see she would do anything for him. That being said, notice how now that Lauren's not carrying a gun around town anymore, she has a spear hanging around her neck. Perfect for gouging Daisy's eyes out if she were to suddenly attack. Or worse yet, Sheila's because let's face it, we all know it's only a matter of time. Metallic Rib Knit Sweater with Asymmetric Trim $59.90 at Zara
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Leslie wears a silk blouse and wishbone necklace. Her relationship with Neil is a bit like Marcel Duchamp's art- a bit unconventional but somehow, it works. Leslie openly admits she's hesitant to accept Mr. Winters' job offer because she's afraid of a mutual attraction they have towards one another and their dating past. Ummm, what woman in her right mind would ever do that?! Way to play the game, dear. And similarly, what artist would ever dream of taking a porcelain urinal, titling it Fountain and passing it off as art? Just like you can't help but root for Leslie and Neil (Neslie? Leil?), you can't help but admire Duchamp's controversial piece and creativity.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Phyllis wears a black dress. You know Dasher (Genevieve) and Dancer (Lily) and Prancer (Abby) and Vixen (Sharon), Comet (Chelsea) and Cupid (Lauren) and Donner (Chloe) and Blitzen (Nikki) but do you recall the one with the red nose hair that appalls? All of the other Genoa City women used to laugh and call her names, they never let poor Phyllis join in their catty games. Then one foggy summer's eve, Ronan came to say, "Phyllis with your hair so bright, won't you rock my world tonight?" Then she went and fought with Summer, and Christine shouted "You will see. Phyllis Summers Newman, you'll go down in history!"
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Victoria wears a brown top and a striped scarf. Now that she's back in Genoa City after her kidnapping ordeal, one can't help but wonder if she misses Miami. Not only does the city have better weather and Cuban food but she only missed Art Basel by a week or two. Talk about wrong place, wrong time, huh? Then again, Billy and Nick may have gotten confused thinking she was busy participating in "performance art." You know, playing the part of "determined woman ready to break free" like she does during her weekly dress rehearsals with her dear daddy Victor. That is, after she is done painting the town red.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Avery wears a plaid shirt. Let's face it, her relationship with Nick is getting a little boring now that Phyllis seems more concerned with winning Summer back than fighting them. As a result, the couple is almost as dull as Tom Brady and Giselle Bundchen naming their new baby girl Vivian. Guess the famous duo didn't get the memo about celebrities naming their children something unusual like Suri. Or Apple. Or Sunday. You know, like Avery must have overlooked the message that women don't date men who are still married, let alone to their sisters. Guess we'll have to wait until Avery gets pregnant with Nick's child for the fireworks to begin anew. And cross our fingers they name the baby something quirky like Cupcake.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Nikki wears a plum top, chain necklace, and hoop earrings. Her attitude towards Chelsea is both bewildering and understandable, just like Fox's new celebrity diving show "Stars in Danger: High Diving." In Nikki's case, her icy behavior is bewildering because Adam's wife tried to ruin her daughter's marriage. Then again, it is also confusing because Victoria would not have Johnny at all if Chelsea hadn't been so generous. As for Fox, the network certainly knows viewers are going to tune in to watch a Miss Kim Richards dive off the deep end (as if she hasn't already) but diving? Really? Sounds about as likely to succeed as a little show about celebrities learning how to figure skate that ABC likes to pretend never existed. Anyhow, because Nikki's demeanor is so hard to read at the moment, Chelsea better watch out for any cannonballs coming her way.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon wears a blue shirt and moon and star necklace. Now that the palace has announced Kate Middleton is pregnant, everyone is no doubt over the moon. Sharon, on the other hand, is expecting harsh judgement and in Chelsea's eyes, is becoming a royal pain. So while the Duchess of Cambridge is with child, Adam's wife thinks her husband's ex is behaving like one. The one thing Sharon and Kate seem to have in common these days? They both look stunning in blue. That has to count for something, right?
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Lily wears a yellow lace dress. Does her relationship with Cane remind anybody else of Ashley and JP's? Besides the fact that both couples are young and very much in love, the Rosenbaums and Ashbys each own a Yorkshire Terrier. Absolutely adorable, right? And just like the Genoa City pair will always have Paris, the newlyweds will always have Fiji. Now if only the Bachelorette duo would hurry up and have twins, Chris Harrison's life would be complete.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Jill wears a navy dress with open shoulders. When she agrees to go to dinner with Tucker, one can't help wonder if she using him. Then again, is Mr. McCall trying to manipulate a poor unsuspecting Jill? Seems to mirror the many questions arising in regards to Kim Zolciak's leaving The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Was the blond fired? Did she choose to leave? Some things we will never know until someone inevitably writes a tell-all book. As for Jill and Tucker, the truth will eventually be revealed but for now, a game of cat and mouse is just what Kim's doctor ordered. You know, after advising the weave-wearing housewife not to go on that Anguilla trip.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Summer wears a plaid jacket. She may act like everything is fine a la Angela in The Office but deep down, you just know she's seething. While Summer may not be out hiring people to murder break the kneecaps of her enemies, one could guess she has crumbled a cookie or two out of pure frustration. The difference is, Angela's go-to-guy Dwight was waiting for her with open arms while Summer's main squeeze Fen is growing darker and more distant by the day. If the youngest Baldwin's not careful, people will be jumping into his unmarked van and hiring him to commit vengeful acts after he shows them his gun receipt. In other words, sad and creepy just like Dwight's friend. And all because of Summer.
On this episode of TheYoungandthe Restless, Christine wears a white jacket. Just to do a quick recap, she's going to New York to tell Danny she's starting something with Paul when she isn't exactly dating either man? Um, okay. About as pointless as the countless news reports about Kate Middleton's new bangs. And according to critics, about as worthless as Pippa Middleton's new party planning book. However, despite Christine's useless actions, you've gotta hand it to her; she's stepping up her fashion game lately. Donating those blazers to Goodwill has done wonders for her. Do you think that's how Nina will feel about giving Paul away to someone "less fortunate"?
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Jill wears a colorblock shirt. As she gets some sisterly advice from Lauren about dating, she acts as if her return to the "dating arena" is the craziest thing. Clearly, Jill has yet to stumble across this year's GOOP Gift Guide by Gweneth Paltrow. Your very own spinning bike? How about the "grow your own garden" planter box? A wooden swing, perhaps? It really doesn't get more ludicrous than that. Jill may very well be crazy for agreeing to go on a date with Tucker but at least she knows what she's getting into. Gweneth, on the other hand, may want to rethink the unpractical gift guide with Rockerfeller price-tags for next year.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Lauren wears a teal dress and a branch necklace. Angus T. Jones telling viewers not to watch Two and a Half Men is like Lauren telling Genoa City residents not to shop at Fenmore's. In other words, why on earth would somebody sabotage his or her own career? Perhaps in Jones' case, it was having a Mr. Charlie Sheen as a mentor for all those years on set. You just know the crazy man was encouraging the youngster to drink up some of that tiger blood and all. As for Lauren, luckily she doesn't have any self-sabotage in her or any "Anger Management" issues to boot. You know what Sheen would say to that? (Get ready to cringe.) Winning.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Gloria wears a leopard blazer. She may be sitting at the new restaurant in town listening to her son gripe about his financial woes but even that doesn't deter her from making snarky comments about the establishment. One could even venture to say Gloria may be channeling Anton, the harsh restaurant critic in Ratatouille. And who's betting that right about now Kevin is wishing he could control his mother like a marionette the way Remy controls Linguini in the film? That way, Gloria would be happily dishing out the cash her youngest so desires. Five stars to cooking up a scheme like that, right?
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Chelsea wears a black dress. As she shares Sharon's secret with Chloe, one can't help but wait for the game of telephone that will ensue given Mrs. Fisher's Guinness World Record title as the "World's Biggest Blabbermouth." Chelsea may as well have handed her a megaphone and told her to go for it. While Chloe may have her work cut out for her keeping that vault kept shut, Mrs. Newman better pray her friend doesn't spill the beans. If not, it's Chelsea's funeral. And look, she's even dressed for it too.
On this episode of TheYoungandthe Restless, Christine wears a lace t-shirt. As she cozies up to her best friend's ex-boyfriend right after breaking up the couple, one can't help but cringe. Sure, she plays the holier-than-thou card with Phyllis all day every day but in the end, Christine is still the girl who kissed her best friend's boyfriend and ended that relationship. Too bad Cricket doesn't follow fellow Jiminy Cricket's advice because in this case, her conscience is hardly her guide. Good to see at least she's working on her fashion sense.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Chloe wears a green dress. Remember the children's book by Plat and Munck called The Little Engine that Could? Too bad repeating the phrase "I think I can, I think I can" is not going to save the trainwreck that is Tag and Grab. Especially not when the conductor Adam has jumped off the train and the only one left is the engineer, Kevin. Chloe tries to do some damage control and cover her tracks but even she is no longer onboard. Kevin's one track mind is going to have to be retrained because although he has been derailed, he should be picking up steam in no time.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Nikki wears a black lace shirt. Now that the ridiculous kidnapping drama is behind them, no one can breathe a sigh of relief since Victoria was never really in any danger in the first place. Seriously, the whole ordeal went a little something like this: "'Don't have the money in time, Billy? No problem, here's the phone so you can comfort your wife.' 'Uncomfortable in a small dark closet, Victoria? Let's move you to a bigger room with better lighting.' 'Hungry? Here, have some of Miami's finest Cuban food.' 'Bored? Let's bond over how we don't have custody of our kids.'" For all purposes, Eddie G. may as well have been carrying a water gun. How did Victoria's kidnapper ever survive prison? Anyhow, now that Nikki has her daughter back, she can focus on planning her 500th wedding to Victor and redecorating the ranch. Oh, the life of a Newman.
Do you have a niece just like Abby? A friend that reminds you of Chloe? Check out this holiday gift guide inspired by Genoa City's finest ladies. The best part? Everything is under $100!
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon wears a teal dress and a camel coat. As she comes out of hiding, paranoia sets in and she scrambles to get her life in order. With good reason too because if Nikki ever were to find out Sharon burnt down the ranch, it's going to be Gabriel Aubry vs. Oliver Martinez all over again. Who knows which of the two women will end up with the black eye or if restraining orders will follow suit but the best part of this comparison? Victor is Halle Berry. As for the coat, here is a similar one.
On this episode of The Young and the Restless, Esther wears a printed cardigan. Who else is hoping that one of these days, she will get her happily ever after? Esther should follow Jennifer Lopez' lead in Maid in Manhattan and start wearing Katherine's clothes and baubles in her down time. Who knows, she could even run into the man of her dreams while wearing one of Mrs. C's fur coats! Kay may want to start treating Esther a bit nicer though because barking orders and bossing her around may not make the resilient woman quit but it may result in Minnie's chocolate pie from The Help. On the bright side, at least she didn't have to wear that ridiculous maid's uniform on Thanksgiving.
